As a first time mom, there were several things I wasn’t sure how to navigate. For example, how do you load your infant from their car seat to a baby carrier you are wearing. How to change your baby’s diaper when you are in the car (not in your lap as I learned one day when my daughter decided to have a newborn bowel movement while I was trying to get a new diaper on her). And what items do you need to feed your baby a bottle when you are not at home. For the first three months of my first born’s life, I had never feed my daughter a bottle anywhere other than at our house. There were many Saturdays we would go out and run our errands and then race home to feed our daughter a bottle for her next feeding. I had zero clue as to…

We have recently had a change in our home life and schedules. My husband was promoted at work which is a great thing but unfortunately,it has changed his schedule. He went from working normal hours Monday through Friday, same as me, to working every other weekend. So that leaves me at home with three 4 year old toddlers on the weekend. YAY! Now I know there are mothers that do this by themselves day in and day out. Those moms are awesome and more power to them! This is not going to be a poor pitiful me post. This is just going to be a post about the challenges I face in this unique situation of triplets. The “Freaking 4’s” We are just now leaving the “Terrible 3’s” and it looks like it is turning into the “Freaking 4s”. Toddlers are so hard! I have to admit I sometimes dread the…
Recently my husband came across an online article of an Irish island, Arranmore, that is looking for residents from America and Australia to move to their island. This farming and fishing community’s population has been slowing decreasing because residents are leaving to pursue other careers in more modern cities. They are hoping to interest those that are able to work remotely. I have to admit, I was intrigued. And after seeing the pictures of the gorgeous landscape of the island, I started to daydream how different our day to day life would be but also what a great experience for us as a family it would be. Any House Hunters International fans out there? I am one of those individuals that has watched numerous episodes of House Hunters International, and thought about what it would be like to move to a different country and start a new life. I see…
I never thought in a million years I would be a mother of triplets, but here I am. Two girls and one boy entered my life all at the same time. Well, within a minute of each other but you get it. So how did I get here? From the Beginning No I didn’t do IVF but I did have to resort to fertility shots to help me become pregnant. A very common question I get which BTW, some may find that question very intrusive! If you don’t know the person, just say congratulations and move on. It’s no one’s business how it happened. Although some people do find the questions rude, I, on the other hand am pretty open about it and don’t mind speaking about my journey. I administered one month of injections that was unsuccessful. The second month worked, and boy did it work! Just imagine, my…
I first felt the pull to stay at home with my first born around the time she turned one year old. Honestly, I never thought I would ever desire to stay at home full time and raise a family. I had always loved my job, enjoyed the individuals I worked with, and thrived off the challenge of problem solving. Half way through my maternity leave, I looked forward to getting back to work. I would peak at emails and chat with coworkers via the phone or text. My life had revolved around my career for the last 15 years, and having a baby was not going to change my devotion to my job. I was lost being a first time mom. It was all so new, lonely, and hard. When I started back to work, I never once cried when I had to drop my 12 week old daughter…
